The Moringa it is a tree native to northern India. It grows in almost any type of soil, even in conditions of high seasonal aridity, enduring long periods of drought, which makes this plant an important resource for the populations that live in these areas. It also prevents soil erosion in dry and windy areas. The moringa tree grows very fast, since in just one year it can bear fruit and reach 4 meters in height, reaching up to 9.5 m in its mature age. The leaves are pale green in color and bear small white flowers and fruits with an exquisite aroma. It is known as the tree of eternal youth.
Currently there are only 13 species within the genus Moringa, the most popular of these is the Moringa oleifera due to its great medicinal properties.
All parts of the moringa tree are edible, from the roots to the leaves and the seeds of the fruits, with very diverse benefits, both for agriculture, food and medicine.
Several studies have been carried out to understand in depth the properties of moringa, but what is known so far is enough to encourage exhaustive research, since it is a tree endowed with wonderful properties and benefits for humans, which has awakened a great interest in the scientific world.
The SHEETS from the moringa tree, component of Aunoia GAIA capsules contain:
In some studies carried out, they indicate that a small amount of the leaves of the moringa tree provide 23% of the recommended daily value of vitamin A intake and up to 18% of vitamin C, and due to its calcium and iron content, they are used as the equivalent of spinach. 25 grams of leaves of this tree can have: 42% protein, 125% calcium, 61% magnesium, 41% potassium, 71% iron, 272% vitamin A and 22% vitamin C.
Another advantage of the tree Moringa oleifera is that even in periods of drought it does not stop producing leaves, which generates a plant food that can supply other foods that are scarce due to drought.
As a precaution, avoid eating Moringa leaves on an empty stomach, due to its laxative effect, as occurs with spinach and dark leafy vegetables. Also due to its hypoglycemic effect (it can reduce blood sugar levels), it is advisable for diabetics to take precautions when consuming it.
As a curiosity we can say that the moringa oleifera is one of the most used plants in the Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine. This traditional herbal medicine is around 2,000 years old and is, along with traditional Chinese medicine, the most ancient in the world that is still in practice. Among the almost 3,000 medicinal plants that Ayurveda describes, the moringa oleifera it is one of the most representative and effective.
Inulin is a natural extract of chicory root and is part of the group of oligosaccharides with the composition of a long-chain carbohydrate. We can also find it in other vegetables such as artichoke, garlic, onion, asparagus, leek, wheat and banana.
It is part of dietary fiber and its incorporation into the daily diet is of great importance as it reaches the intestine almost undigested, thus increasing the development of intestinal bacteria.
There are many inulin properties, among them we highlight:
People suffering from fructose malabsorption syndrome should limit their intake of inulin since it is a fructan, not consuming more than 500 mg per meal, which will not influence the intake of the product. Aunoia GAIA since the daily dose of 3 tablets represents 47 mg of inulin.
Pregnant women should consult their doctor, since Moringa contains a large amount of vitamin A, the excess of which is contraindicated in pregnancy.
